RFTC Back to School Event with Lia Riley

Lia Riley writes offbeat New Adult and Contemporary Adult romance. After studying at the University of Montana-Missoula, she scoured the world armed only with a backpack, overconfidence and a terrible sense of direction. She counts shooting vodka with a Ukranian mechanic in Antarctica, sipping yerba mate with gauchos in Chile and swilling XXXX with stationhands in Outback Australia among her accomplishments.

A British literature fanatic at heart, Lia considers Mr. Darcy and Edward Rochester as her fictional boyfriends. Her very patient husband doesn't mind. Much. When not torturing heroes (because c'mon, who doesn't love a good tortured hero?), Lia herds unruly chickens, camps, beach combs, daydreams about future books, wades through a mile-high TBR pile and schemes yet another trip. Right now, Icelandic hot springs and Scottish castles sound mighty fine.

She and her family live mostly in Northern California.

Hey, everyone. Adam Carson, here. College isn't too far behind me, and I'll admit it had its good and bad. Easton University is where I said good-bye to my first love--basketball--and where I met my new love--Jess Elliott. Guess our story's a good one because this author, A.J. Pine, wrote a whole book about it called ONE NIGHT.

But today's not about me. It's about my buddy, Archer Kane. Okay, fine. We just met, but his author, Lia Riley, promised us a trip for four to Vegas if we did this interview thing. Jess and I have never been, and Archer says Vegas holds some sentimental value to him. I'm reading his book, RIGHT WRONG GUY, to find out why.

Adam: So you're, like, a cowboy, right? Do you have to go to school to learn how to...cowboy?

Archer: Hey Adam, thanks for hanging with me this morning, man. And yeah, there's a cowboy school. Except the first rule of cowboy school is not to talk about cowboy school. ;)

Adam: What kind of student were you in high school? You're the youngest of three boys, so I'm guessing hell-raiser. Am I right?

Archer: If you mean the time I hosted a kegger on the 50 yard line of the high school football field or turned the hallway by the lunch room into a co-ed slip and slide or brought a cow into the principals's office on graduation...yeah I guess so.

Adam: Ever get your heart broken in high school or college?

Archer: Nah. I never was with the same girl for longer than a week back in the day.

Adam: What do you miss most about being in school?

Archer: Besides the rubbery hot dogs and mystery meatloaf? maybe when someone would shout "Fight" and we'd all come running. It was usually my brother Wilder kicking ass. Or watching my other brother Sawyer pitch a no hitter game. Three Kane brothers were probably too much for the school to handle tell the truth.

Adam: Okay, not gonna lie. There's a lot I loved about the college years, but there are also things I'd like to forget. What's the one thing about those days you're happy to say good-bye to?

Archer: Well, I wasn't ever a college guy but one thing I'm not going to miss is running from long term relationships. Once upon a time being a one-woman guy seemed like getting saddled with unwanted responsibility but thankfully I grew the hell up and got my head out of my ass.

Adam: Any parting words for our readers who are heading back to school as we speak?

Archer: Resistance is futile. Study hard and remember, you can always join cowboy club. Nah. Just kidding. We're the few, the proud, the wrangler-wearin'.

Adam: Well, that's a wrap. Archer Kane, everyone! Hope you guys have a great school year and check back in a week or two when Archer will be interviewing yours truly.

Want to get to know Archer Kane a little better. RIGHT WRONG GUY is out now!

The fun and flirty second installment in Lia Riley’s fantastic Brightwater series.

Sometimes two wrongs can make a right...

Bad boy wrangler, Archer Kane, lives fast and loose. Words like responsibility and commitment send him running in the opposite direction. Until a wild Vegas weekend puts him on a collision course with Eden Bankcroft-Kew, a New York heiress running away from her blackmailing fiancé…the morning of her wedding.

Eden has never understood the big attraction to cowboys. Give her a guy in a tailored suit any day of the week. But now all she can think about is Mr. Rugged Handsome, six-feet of sinfully sexy country charm with a pair of green eyes that keeps her tossing and turning all night long.

Archer might be the wrong guy for a woman like her, but she's not right in thinking he'll walk away without fighting for her heart. And maybe, just maybe, two wrongs can make a right.
