Since 2012 my imagination has mostly been consumed by the world of adult and new adult contemporary romance. My readers would say I’m best known for On Dublin Street, the first book in the adult contemporary romance series of the same title. Currently, my readers are waiting in anticipation for the first book in a brand new series from me— the adult contemporary romance series Hart’s Boardwalk. Book one The One Real Thing releases Sept 6th 2016 and every month I’ve been driving my readers crazy with teasers on social media!

What some of my readers know is that I didn’t start out writing adult contemporary romance. No, Joss and Braden (On Dublin Street) were not the first hero and heroine to take over my life for months :p

I started out publishing young adult paranormal and fantasy. Some readers know that so that’s obviously not my secret ;)

What is then? Well, while readers are anticipating my next adult series, they don’t know that behind the scenes I’ve been working on a secret project. Although I can’t quite reveal the details of that (even though I’m so freaking excited I can barely contain myself) I can reveal this secret:

My new adventure as a writer is into the world of young adult contemporary literature! That’s right, YA fans, I have a project up my sleeve that I hope will touch you all, and I also hope will appeal to my adult readership, too.

I love YA and I’m over the moon to be writing within that reading level again.

Stay tuned!

Welcome to Hartwell, a quiet seaside escape where uncovering old secrets could lead one woman to discover the meaning of a love that lasts…

While Doctor Jessica Huntington engages with the inmates at the women’s correctional facility where she works, she’s always careful to avoid emotional attachments in her personal life. Loss and betrayal taught her that lesson long ago. But when she comes across a set of old love letters in the prison’s library and visits the picturesque town of Hartwell to deliver them to their intended recipient, she finds herself unable to resist the town’s charm—and her attraction to the sexy owner of a local bar proves equally hard to deny.

Since his divorce from his unfaithful ex-wife, Cooper Lawson has focused on what really matters: his family and the boardwalk pub they’ve owned for generations. But the first time Jessica steps into his bar, Cooper is beyond tempted to risk his heart on her. Yet as their attraction grows hotter and Jessica remains stubbornly closed off, he begins to realize it will take more than just passion to convince her there’s only one real thing in life worth fighting for...

  1. Could you describe the mundane details of writing: How many hours a day to you devote to writing? Do you write a draft on paper or at a keyboard (typewriter or computer)?

  2. Do you find it hard going from adult book writing to young adult writing? I would think that would be hard remembering some things are written differently.

  3. How many books do you have going in your head at one time? I have trouble just writing a grocery list, I am so glad there are authors like yourself.

  22. I like an occasional YA book too, as long as it's well done. I love the variety of books aimed at that age group. Teens get bored quickly reading the same thing over and over.
