ARC Review: The Rivalry by Nikki Sloane

I am a huge fan of Nikki Sloane and sports romance stories, so when I found out she was writing one I couldn't have been more excited. I enjoyed this one every bit as much as I have everything else I have read from Nikki, and I loved seeing her write something a bit different. This still had plenty of steam and everything else I enjoy in her books, but it was new and fresh as well.

Kayla and Jay meet and instantly hit it off. But as good as they are together, Kayla is a cheerleader for Ohio and Jay is a football player for Michigan. Being a die-hard fan, Kayla finds it hard to get past Jay's team. But can a connection like theirs work when they are rivals?

Being that these characters were a bit younger than those from Nikki's previous books, there was a bit more angst here than normally in her books. I didn't mind it though, and the chemistry between these two was strong and easy to get lost in. I liked that Jay pursued Kayla and didn't give up on her. As much as I enjoyed Kayla keeping Jay on his toes, she did irritate me after awhile with some of what she put him through. I feel like part of this was due to the age of the characters. Jay was the highlight of the story though. He was great and I couldn't get enough of his charming personality. He was sexy and sweet and I really liked him.

Overall, this was a really good story and I enjoyed it a lot. At this point I would read pretty much anything from Nikki Sloane. She is a great writer and one that has yet to disappoint me. I think readers who like Nikki's books will enjoy this one, and those that haven't read her before should definitely give this one a shot. This book has steam and is an entertaining story that will appeal to fans of romance stories of several genres.

ARC Review: Torrid by Nikki Sloane

Torrid is the second book in the Sordid series by Nikki Sloane. You can read each as a standalone story though without any problems understanding anything. I really love Nikki Sloane's books and I couldn't wait to read Torrid. Each book of hers I read seems to get better and she is an auto-buy for me. If you like erotic romance novels, Nikki Sloane is an author that you have to read!

Vasilije is the prince of the Serbian mafia and is known for being ruthless. Oksana finds herself pretending to be a pawn in a dangerous game and as she and Vasilije grow closer things get more complicated. But Oksana has a secret that would change everything if revealed. When the truth finally comes out will they survive or will it destroy everything?

I couldn't get enough of these two. While there was a lot of heat between them and the chemistry was off the charts, this book was less steamy than Sordid. I still really enjoyed it, but I did miss a bit of the heat that Nikki is known for. I really loved the dynamic between Oksana and Vasilije though. There was so much going on here and the power play between these two was so interesting to me. It was intense and captivating, and kept me turning the pages from start to finish.

While I have loved everything I have read from Nikki, this series is one that I find intriguing. I love her sexy and erotic stories, but this series is dark and a bit gritty. The mafia element here makes for a fascinating world that brings not only the heat that you expect from Nikki's books, but characters that are interesting and dirty in the best way. I have never been disappointed with anything I have read from her, but if you like sexy stories and mafia romance books this series is one that I can't recommend enough. Nikki Sloane knocked it out of the park again with Torrid, and I am already looking forward to whatever she writes next!

ARC Review: Sordid by Nikki Sloane

Sordid is a standalone story from Nikki Sloane. I have read and loved her Blindfold Club series, so I couldn't wait to read this one when I saw she had a new release coming out. While there have been some darker elements to a few of her BC series books, I have to warn readers that Sordid is darker than anything I have read from Nikki Sloane before. This book will not be for everyone, and if you are sensitive to books with sexual consent issues I will tell you that you probably shouldn't read this book. However if you are a fan of dark stories and can handle some dubious consent, Sordid is definitely one worth reading.

Addison has spent years trying to work up the courage to talk to Luka. He was her TA two years ago, and since then they have both changed. So when they run into each other at a party, she finally takes the chance to get to talk to him. But Luka is not like she expected at all and Addison soon finds herself in a dark and twisted world she never knew existed. The more she struggles to break free, the more she finds herself drawn to Luka despite everything. But can Addison escape her new circumstances or will she discover that not only does she not want to escape, but that she belongs there?

Luka is about as far from a hero as you can get. He is dark and twisted, and can even at times be described as a villain. However he was also sexy and commanding, and I found myself just as drawn to him as Addison was. There was just something about him that made you want him, and it was easy to see how Addison became so caught up in his world. Addison was smart and driven, and yet she also had moments where she was a bit naive. I really liked her though and I felt like I understood her. The chemistry between these two was so strong that it was easy to see how feelings were developing even when most would question them. I couldn't get enough of these two though.

I will say that I wish we had been given more Luka. This story was told from Addison's POV, and I really would have liked Luka's POV as well. I wanted his thoughts and to really see what he was thinking so much throughout this book. I also felt like it would have been nice to get more of his background as well. We did get some of it, but I found myself greedy and wanting more. I felt the chemistry between Luka and Addison and at times the connection as well, but I felt like we didn't fully see the emotional connection develop between Luka and Addison here. At times it just felt forced due to the circumstances, and I wanted to see more of that happen naturally so that I could fully believe in them. I think part of that was because the sex almost seemed to get in the way of that. While I enjoy a good sex scene as much as the next girl, there was just so much here that I felt like the rest of the story suffered a bit and I found myself wanting to skim at times to get back to the story. Overall though another really great story from Nikki Sloane. I have enjoyed everything that I have read from her, and seeing this darker side to her was something that I really liked. I know that I will read whatever she writes next, and I highly recommend her books if you are looking for erotic romance stories that push some boundaries.

ARC Review: Three Dirty Secrets by Nikki Sloane

I absolutely love this series! Nikki Sloane writes some of the hottest books I have ever read, and I have loved each book in the Blindfold Club series. Three Dirty Secrets is the fourth book in the series, but each can be read as a standalone since they are about interconnected characters. Regan and Silas were great, and I really enjoyed their story.

Working at the blindfold club Regan sells sex for money, though her body isn't for sale. When she catches her boyfriend with another woman and he tells her that she is cold and detached, she is ready to change that. Needing to do something, Regan decides to let go of her fears and get a tattoo despite her fear of needles to cover up a painful memory. What she doesn't expect is the sexy artist who will be giving her the tattoo. The connection between her and Silas is instant, and hotter than anything she felt with her ex. But being with him threatens everything that she has been working for, and Regan has secrets that she can't have revealed. After being hurt in the past by a liar, Silas doesn't put up with anything but honesty. So what happens when the truth about Regan's secrets finally comes out?

I really loved Regan and Silas. These two were perfect for one another. Silas was sweet and sexy, and I couldn't get enough of him. He was great with Regan, and really helped her with a lot of what she was going through. He had a way of getting her to open up and talk about things that she really needed to, and I liked seeing her grow and heal with his help. Regan was strong, but she had some issues because of her past. Seeing her really embrace her desires and find someone that she could share that with was something that I really enjoyed. Her ex might have thought that she was cold, but it was clear right from the start that they weren't compatible. She needed someone who could give and take, and Silas was exactly that guy for her. He allowed her to explore her dominant side, while also taking control when he needed to as well. These two were so steamy together, and I couldn't get enough of them.

Overall, another great book in this series. I really enjoyed the story and Silas and Regan are definitely one of my favorite couples. It was so good to see familiar faces here, and I always love getting to catch up with my favorite characters. I don't know how Nikki Sloan does it, but just when I think she has written my favorite couple she goes and gives us another couple that is just as fantastic as the previous ones. If you are a fan of erotic romance with great writing and a ton of steam, this series is an absolute must read! I can't wait to get more from Nikki Sloane and I can't recommend these books enough.

ARC Review: Three Little Mistakes by Nikki Sloane

I really love the Blindfold Club Series by Nikki Sloane. Each book is seriously hot, and so sexy that I can't put the down. Three Little Mistakes is every bit as good as the previous two, and I am never disappointed with Nikki Sloane's writing. Each book in this series is a standalone, but I would definitely recommend reading them in order for full enjoyment as each book tends to have previous characters play a significant part.

As the owner of The Blindfold Club Joseph not only sells sex, but it is pretty much his entire life. He loves the power and control it gives him, after a past in which his every move was controlled. But when he meets the sexy and mysterious Em, everything begins to change for him. Noemi is looking to do something wild for a change, tired of being the good girl she has had to be for her family. When she meets Joseph, she knows that he is exactly what she needs. As she gets to know him, he begins to introduce her to his world and she finally starts to break out of her shell. But when Joseph learns who her family is he realizes that she is the one woman that he absolutely can't have, yet can't give up. Can Joseph find a way to make things work or will he and Noemi be over before they ever have a chance at something real?

I really liked Noemi and Joseph. I honestly wasn't sure how I would feel about these two in relation to the other characters from this series, because I loved the previous ones so much! But I really ended up liking Joseph and he was so much more than what we had previously seen of him. He had so much beneath his surface, and it was clear that he preferred to go it alone without letting many people in. Even his closest friend didn't really know much about him. But Noemi was perfect for him. She fulfilled all his desires and got him to open up to her in a way that was so natural and easy. Noemi was sweet and used to being the smart and successful good girl. Yet she was open and adventurous with Joseph, and I really enjoyed seeing her confidence grow. She embraced who she was and what she wanted, and I was glad that Joseph never let her be embarrassed or run away from what they were enjoying together when she got inside her head too much. He got her to face everything and realize that what they were doing together was something that they both enjoyed with no judgments. These two had off the charts chemistry and such a strong and undeniable connection with an amazing amount of trust.

Overall, this was a great addition to this series. I loved the characters and getting to see familiar faces. Each time I find out that there will be another book in this series it absolutely makes my day. I have enjoyed this series from the beginning and cannot recommend these books enough. They are some of the hottest books I have ever read, but they also are really great stories! Sometimes with Erotica you get the sex and steam, but there isn't a story to go with it and while I enjoy the sex I need more than just that to make for a great reading experience. Nikki Sloane always manages to give us the sexiest dirty-talkers and a story that is impossible to put down. These books are definitely worth the read, and if you like things on the really hot side you absolutely need to check these out if you haven't already. I cannot wait for the next book in this series, and whatever else Nikki Sloane decides to write in the future. She has solidified herself as an auto-buy author for me, and I know that whatever she is writing I will be reading.

ARC Review: Three Hard Lessons by Nikki Sloane

Three Hard Lessons is the second book in the Blindfold Club series by Nikki Sloane, and holy hell does this woman write some hot stories! I was really excited to read this book because I loved the first one, and this one was just as good as the first! Nikki Sloane is seriously becoming a go-to for me when it comes to Erotica. This book is a standalone, but for the most enjoyment I would really recommend reading these in order. Trust me, you will not be disappointed!

Payton is a professional, and men pay thousands of dollars to be with her. But when the handsome Dominic shows up and drops $30,000 to be with her, everything begins to change. Dominic takes all of Payton's rules and breaks them, quickly getting under her skin. Payton has done her best to keep men at arm's length, but she soon realizes that there is something different about Dominic. With Dominic only in town for a short time before he has to return overseas to work, he asks Payton to come with him. Payton accepts and heads to Japan with him, and before long Payton soon finds herself developing feelings for Dominic. Payton was only supposed to be in Japan with Dominic for two weeks, but will they be able to say goodbye at the end of it or will they take a chance and find a way to make things between them work?

I liked Payton in the first book, but I didn't love her. Then she completely won me over in this story! I loved seeing who she was underneath it all. She was so much more than we had seen, and it was easy to see why she had kept up such a facade. Dominic instantly got under her skin and started breaking down her walls. Dominic was exactly what she needed, and he was able to keep up with her and challenge her. Payton is a very strong personality, so I knew it would have to be someone equally strong to keep up with her. What I loved most about Dominic was that while he was alpha and could keep Payton on her toes, he was also really sweet and was able to give her control when she needed it. These two could not have fit more perfectly together, and I honestly believed in their connection from the start even if it was an instant one. The chemistry between these two was smoking hot, and I am surprised that the sex between them didn't overheat my Kindle. But I really enjoyed seeing them get to know one another and find out that they fit beyond just on a physical level.

Overall, this book was really great! I honestly am really loving this series and Nikki Sloane's writing. While I really enjoyed this book as I did the previous one, the one thing I will say is that it did put me a bit outside my comfort zone. I don't typically read any F/F content, and this book did have a bit of that as the first one did. While it didn't bother me, it just isn't my thing. It was a pretty small portion of this story though, so it wasn't enough to really change my opinion on this story and I loved Payton and Dominic enough to get through it. I think that this series is definitely worth the read, especially if you like your books scorching hot with a great story as well. I don't honestly know that I could pick a favorite out of the two, because I liked them both so much and for completely different reasons. I will absolutely be keeping an eye out for more from Nikki Sloane in the future, and I cannot wait to see what she comes up with next.

ARC Review: Three Simple Rules by Nikki Sloane

I have to say that Three Simple Rules by Nikki Sloane really surprised me. Honestly I never expected to get as sucked into this story as I did, and I couldn't put it down. The characters were likable and easy to relate to, and while I knew that there would be plenty of sex with this book I didn't really expect to feel the connection I did between them as well. This book was super hot, but it was also so much more than that. I did have a few things that weren't my favorite, but for the most part this book was fantastic.

When Evie makes a costly mistake at work, she begs her boss to let her fix it on her own dime. The amount of money is more than she has though, so she finally agrees to sell herself for a night as her best friend Payton has been trying to get her to do. She will give a stranger one night of sex at an exclusive club in which he pays for her all the while she is kept in the dark of who he actually is due to a blindfold. But when her night arrives and the blindfold comes off, she is shocked to find none other than her boss Logan was the one who bought her. As they spend the night together, they agree on a set of rules that they must follow for their time together. But as their time together comes to an end, they both find themselves wanting more than one night together.

I really loved Logan. He was so sexy, and I loved how much of a dirty talker he was! He was commanding and pushed Evie's boundaries, yet he was also sweet and caring with her. He had been interested in Evie long before their night together, and I loved finding out just how much he had always thought about her. He was so much more than the jerk from work, and I loved getting to know him better. I thought that he made a few mistakes throughout the book, but I was glad when things finally came out and he was able to be completely honest with Evie. Evie was easy to like, and I thought that she was a really strong character. She was willing to put herself in an uncomfortable situation to keep her job, and she had no guilt or shame over it. I loved how secure she was, and the fact that she looked at it so positively was so refreshing. Even when things happened that she was upset about, she always seemed to look at the plus side and I really admired that about her. Evie and Logan were hot as hell together, and to say their chemistry was off the charts is an understatement. These two were fantastic together, but it made it even hotter because of the connection they had. These two just clicked on every level and it really showed.

Honestly, this book was really close to being a five star read for me. While it was really close, there were a few things that prevented that for me. This book did have a couple of times when there was some menage action, with one full on threesome. The first one didn't bother me at all, and the fact that it was a M/F/F surprised me. That just isn't my thing, and normally it does nothing for me. It was pretty hot in this one though, and I didn't mind at all. The actual threesome in this story was hot as well, don't get me wrong. What bothered me about it though was when it occurred. To me, I felt like it was bit too far into the relationship between Logan and Evie. I felt that it was a bit unrealistic that there were no feelings of hurt or jealousy, and I found myself more bothered by it than the characters. I just felt like at the point in the relationship they were in that it was too much. They were connected so emotionally at that point that I just felt it shouldn't have happened, no matter the fact that I saw it coming from the start. I also felt like most of the conflict in this book was resolved far too easily. At the end something pretty huge happens, and although the characters are upset about it the whole thing was pretty much just brushed under the rug. While that is nice in theory, I just didn't think things would be solved as easily as that. I know if it had been me I would have been much more upset, and I wanted to see them talk about things more. I did love Logan and Evie though, and this book was a great story as well as being steamy. The ending left us hanging and wanting more, and I am anxious to find out what happened! I definitely recommend this book, and I think that it is just one of those books that you can't help but devour. I already want to go back and read it again.
