Guest Post with Author Cynthia Sax and Giveaway

Please give a warm welcome to author Cynthia Sax who has stopped by to chat about He Watches Me, book one in her Seen Trilogy.

Cynthia Sax lives in a world filled with magic and romance. Although her heroes may not always say, “I love you”, they will do anything for the women they adore. They live passionately. They play hard. They love the same women forever.

Cynthia has loved the same wonderful man forever. Her supportive hubby offers himself up to the joys and pains of research, while they travel the world together, meeting fascinating people and finding inspiration in exotic places such as Istanbul, Bali, and Chicago.

Places to find Cynthia:

I’ve Got A Friend

Many of the heroes and heroines in my stories have friends. Friends show that a hero or heroine can form long-term relationships, they are a link to the hero’s or heroine’s past, and I truly believe friendship is a key component of lasting love. It is challenging to be great lovers if we don’t know how to be great friends.

If characters in my stories don’t have friends, there’s a solid reason why. Maybe they move around a lot or they’re scared of being hurt or they have a dangerous secret a best friend would be certain to uncover.

In some cases, it is all three. Anna, the heroine of He Watches Me, is running from her past. A loved one made a bad decision and this decision has haunted her, causing her to be judged, rejected, hurt. Anna moves across the country to L.A., seeking a fresh start, hoping to escape her undeserved reputation.

Anna is lonely and she desperately wants friends but she knows, in order to keep her past a secret, she’ll have to lie to them. She’s not a good liar and she’s uncomfortable with not telling the truth. Anna also knows when her new friends find out the truth about her, they’ll reject her. Then she’ll have to move again, leaving them behind.

She decides it’s best for everyone including herself if she avoids making friends, if she stays invisible, fading into the background. She goes to work, does her job quietly, eating lunch alone, and goes directly home, to an empty house. She is so disconnected with the outside world, she doesn’t even have a phone.

This is a great plan in theory. In reality, it doesn’t work. Camille aka Goth girl decides Anna will be her new friend. She sits beside her at work. She eats lunch with her. She defends her when co-workers tease her. She decides she likes Anna.

Anna, however, knows Camille doesn’t truly know her. When Camille finds out the truth, she’ll reject her. The smart response would be to reject Camille first, before Anna cares too much, before Camille can inflict more pain. Anna can’t do this. She knows how hurtful rejection is.

Anna now has a friend she desperately wants yet shouldn’t have. Pain is coming… for all of them. Anna simply doesn’t know when. Until this day arrives, she’ll enjoy Camille’s company, knowing how precious friendship is.

What do you love about your best friend? How long have you known her or him?

She desires to be seen. He wants to watch.

Anna Sampson has a naughty secret. Every night, she slips into her neighbor’s yard and swims naked in his pool. She fantasizes that the dynamic young billionaire watches her nightly nude aquatics, his brilliant green eyes gleaming with lust.

She discovers this isn’t pure fantasy. Gabriel Blaine has been watching her via his security cameras, and now that he has returned to L.A., he doesn’t plan to stop. That’s all he wants—to watch. Anna knows she shouldn’t allow him and she certainly shouldn’t want more, but she craves Blaine’s attention, needing his gaze fixed on her body.

    1. Thank you, Mary. (big hugs) The stories are priced at a crazy low 99 cents each, less than a convenience store chocolate bar. I love this because you and other new-to-me readers can 'sample' my writing without too much risk.

  5. It's funny how a book description sometimes doesn't convey the story. The description doesn't appeal to me that much, but your post definitely makes the books sounds like something I'd like. I will have to check them out.

Trust is the most important thing in a relationship, be it friends or lovers. Once Anna trusts, she can let go to love.
I've known my best friend for over 20 years and we can tell each other things we wouldn't tell anyone else

  12. My BFF lives three hours away now and I'm sad about that. She doesn't travel outside the confines of her own town and I used to make the trip often but don't anymore due to an ailing spouse. So what did/do I love about her? She's so accepting of what I have been, what I am and what I want to be. She is not judgmental. She always wears a smile, even when she's hurting. I am able to see behind the smiles, however, because I'm her BFF too. We've both made mistakes in life, but cling tenaciously to the hope that our children won't make the same mistakes; and besides, we want to "be there" for our children should they need some support. We talk by phone mostly now, and through e-mail and letters. I sure wish we lived closer to each other.

    2. I hear you, Janice. My best friend lives far away also. I 'talk' to her every day by email and when we do see each other face-to-face, it is like we had never parted.
