Guest Post with Author Nina Crespo and Giveaway

Meet Nina Crespo, author of Take Me If You Dare.

Nina Crespo lives in Florida where she indulges in her favorite passions -- the beach, kick boxing, a good glass of wine, date night with her own real-life hero and dancing. Her lifelong addiction to romance began in her teens while on a "borrowing spree" in her older sister's bedroom where she discovered her first romance novel. Curiosity about people and places, including what's beyond the stars, fuels her writer's imagination. This wellspring of inspiration allows Nina to create sensual contemporary stories and steamy paranormal tales, which she hopes will feed your own addiction for love, romance, and happily ever after.

"What would you do if you had no fear?"

I'm usually searching for the answer to that question around my birthday, just like my heroine Jasmine, in Take Me If You Dare.

I think dares, especially between good friends, are necessary. The people closest to us know when we're phoning it in with our career, relationships or dreams, and they won't let us settle for less than "all-in.” A good dare prompts us to speak our minds instead of being squashed into submission. It answers our hearts desires so we can face the future with fewer regrets. Dares help us create memories that we can smile about later on, and dares give us street cred to share our wisdom or cautionary tales with those about to face what we've already conquered. I also like a good dare because it reminds us that we're not only courageous and resilient, but that we're also a cup of wonderful with big splash of awesome. ("Yes—I did that. How do you like me now?")

Can dares frighten us? Sure they can. A healthy dose of fear helps us distinguish the crazy, meaningless dares from the ones that help us move out, move up and move on.

Sometimes, we're rewarded with our own Ethan at the completion of the journey or the end of one steamy, decadent night.

I've faced and lived down my share of dares. Someone asked me a hard question a few years ago that was basically the equivalent of a dare. I answered that question, gave up my "proper" day job and started writing stories about characters that I love.

What about you? Are you itching to complete a dare? What would you do if you had no fear?

One decadent dare, one steamy night…

It’s been a year since Jasmine Stewart dumped her cheating ex, so when her best friend dares her to have a one-night stand during a business trip to Miami, Jasmine is all in. But just as she hits her cheesy-come-ons limit, a wickedly hot former soldier comes to her rescue.

Security specialist Ethan Worth’s instincts tell him the gorgeous woman at the bar is trouble. After a sexy dance and even sexier kiss, he knows she is. But when their scintillating night leads to more, the possibility of another long distance relationship sends Jasmine running for the door.

Until the unthinkable happens. Jasmine’s company assigns her to Bode-Wynn, the military security firm where Ethan works. Forced back together, the undeniable heat between them flares to life. But sex is all it can ever be, because taking it further goes against everything Jasmine wants…and everything Ethan fears.

I can't believe I agreed to do this. Have a one-night stand. What was I thinking?

Ironically, she was the one who'd started the dare tradition when she'd challenged Tab to kiss her playground crush on her eighth birthday. Since then, the dare had instigated purple hair, a tattoo, a well-hidden body piercing, and a college spring break incident in Acapulco that had landed them just short of jail.

During the past few years, mainly because her cheating ex-fiancĂ© had insisted upon it, she and Tab had toned things down a bit, and the dare had mellowed to the pleasures they'd often denied themselves because of their busy schedules. Things like Latin dancing lessons, wine tasting in Napa, hiring a gourmet chef for a week, or pampering at an expensive spa. This year, as a way to help her get over the ending of her doomed engagement to Greg, Tab had insisted on giving her something more…challenging.

She shot a look at the guy standing next to her and his grin widened.

Once she'd agreed to take the restrictions off, she should have known that Tab would head straight down the path of flat-out crazy.

  3. No. I'm not itching to complete any dares. I do what I think needs to be done - or I want to do - and that's it.
No fears? Same as I do now.
