RFTC Back to School Event with Reese Monroe

New York Times & USA Today Bestselling Author, Lynn Rush (aka Reese Monroe), hails from the land of 10,000 lakes and cold, snowy winters. She's known to weave a little of that frigid Minnesota climate into her stories, but these days she much prefers desert living. She resides in Phoenix, Arizona with her husband, and when she's not busy writing her next trilogy, she can be found pounding the pavement, training for her next endurance event.

Hey, everyone. Sadie here. When I saw this fun Back to School event, I was all over it. I love school. And yes, you may have guess by my saying that—I’m kind of a nerd.

But proud of it.

It’s not every day an orphan pretty much left on the steps of a hospital one night can turn her life around and graduate from college at eighteen.

I so showed those Doubting Thomas group home leaders, didn’t I?

Anyway. The first days of school are just plain fun. It’s like a fresh start. Now, I kinda don’t fit in really well because of the whole being super young and a brainiac, so I’m often on my own—but that’s okay. Being different rocks!

Of course, I didn’t realize that a few days before graduation this hulking hunk of crazy named Theo Bradford would come stomping into my life, claiming I’m this majorly important Shomrei Mate.

It kind of messed with my carefully laid out plans, you know? But more on that later. =)

What I like to do when it comes to getting ready for school—because I wear my dork badge proudly—is plan out the first entire week. Day by day, all the way down to work schedules, where I’m eating meals, and how that all fits in with my study schedule.

All color coordinated in my planner, of course!

I get the class schedules early and get the required reading done—sometimes reading ahead. Oh, who am I kidding? I totally read ahead. And yeah, I might just know how to hack into the school system to get said schedules early.

I get my color coded highlighters and notebooks ready—even though things are mostly iPad and electronic, I’m a little old school in some things. It’s how I think and how I learn.

And of course each class has a specific highlighter and notebook color.

I know, I’m bad.

But at least I have one friend who loves my quirks. Dasha. I’ve never had such a great friend, and she would classify as a bestie, so we’ll meet up on the first day for some coffee and knock this school year out of the park!

What do you guys do for your first day (or days) of class? New clothes? Meet up for coffee with friends before? Or are you like me…on your own a little, maybe with one or two besties to get you through?

Leave me a comment to be entered for a giveaway. We’ve got a $5.00 Starbucks card up for grabs. And if you don’t have a Starbucks near you, that’s okay, we can do an Amazon card to replace out. =) The giveaway is international!!

Thanks for having me here and have a GREAT school year. Hopefully you won’t have any 911-year-old Shomrei Warriors rocking your world off its axis. =)

He’s waited more than 900 years to love her…

Being the Gatekeeper to Hades is no small feat, and waiting almost a millennia to meet your mate is damn near impossible. But Theo Bradford’s mark has finally surfaced on his intended. Now all he has to do is find her and convince her to embrace her supernatural heritage.

Young genius, Sadie Nowland, has got life figured out. Graduating college at the age of eighteen and accepting a six-figure job is just what she needs to prove she’s made something of herself. But when a strange tattoo mysteriously appears on her shoulder and Theo starts talking about Mates, it catapults her neatly laid out life into chaos.

Targeted by a vicious demon escaped from Hades, Sadie is thrust into the volatile world of Shomrei warriors and a connection to Theo her brain can’t comprehend and her body can’t deny. That primal bond proves more imperative to their survival than either could have ever imagined—and just may be the key to the world’s survival.

  2. I really liked the dorky, smart but very fun Sadie in the excerpt. From the blurb, it sounds like she graduated from college already, but in the excerpt, she is very enthused about attending classes?

    1. Hey, Jess1. Thanks for the comment. We catch Sadie a few days before graduation in her story, so she's finishing up her college career and turning 18. Quite a time, huh? LOL. :)

  5. You sound just like my oldest! She's done the same thing since she was about in 3rd grade and she is in her 5th year of Pharmacy at college! She even needs her ink pens in certain colors, not just blue or black!
